About Prue
I teach piano from home in Birchgrove. Twenty five students a week at the moment, ages 6 to 60, and I have been doing it twenty two years.
Two decades in a room with other people's children teaches you a very particular sort of patience. I have sat with an eight year old through the same four bars for forty minutes. I know the difference between a child being difficult and a child being tired, and it is worth knowing.
How I work, so there are no surprises. I am not an entertainer. I don't do craft and I am not going to run around the backyard. What I will do is stay calm, keep to whatever routine you have set, supervise homework properly rather than nodding at it, and read with the younger ones. If there is an instrument in the house I am glad to sit with them while they practise, though I wouldn't turn it into a lesson unless you asked me to.
I don't cook much beyond the basics and I would rather say so than disappoint you. Toast, pasta, eggs, and I can heat up whatever you have left out.
My own two are 20 and 17. The older one is at university in Melbourne, the younger is still at home and mostly out.
Hours are the awkward part. I teach from 3:30 on school days, so weekday mornings until about 2:30 are my free hours, and Saturday afternoons usually work. Sunday mornings I play for a church choir.
WWCC current for the teaching, first aid refreshed in March, full licence and my own car. Happy to do a school pick up if that is what you need.

Stage manager, fifteen years. Mostly independent theatre around the Inner West, two years on a touring children's show that did primary schools up and down the coast, and a stretch at a bigger company doing musicals where I learned to run a very large room. Bar manager at night, so my whole day is free
I run the bar at a pub in Balmain five nights a week, so all my daytime is free and nobody else's is. Good for school holidays, pupil free days and mid week. Nothing after 4pm, ever, sorry.

Vet nurse, free on my rostered days off
I'm a vet nurse at a small animal clinic in Leichhardt and I sit on my days off. Six years of holding wriggling animals still has made me unreasonably good at getting medicine into someone who does not want it, which I gather is half the job with a sick five year old. Pets obviously fine. I've had my sister's two (4 and 7) since they were born, so I know the routine end of it as well, dinner, bath
