Do I need a Working With Children Check to babysit in NSW?

Not for casual, privately arranged babysitting in a family’s own home. NSW rules do not require one for that. If you work as a nanny, au pair, or tutor, meaning regular ongoing care rather than the occasional evening, you do need one, and the parent is expected to verify it. How do I get verified?
