My name is Filomena. I am 64 and I have lived in the same street in Concord since 1981.
I have five grandchildren. Three of them are in Melbourne with my son, so I do not see them enough, and two are here and both at school now. The house is very quiet in the day.
I have been minding children in this street since many years. First the neighbours' children, then their children. One of the mothers I mind for now, I minded her when she was three years old, so you can see I do not go anywhere.
What I do is simple. I collect them from school if you need that. I give them something proper to eat. I sit with them at the table while they do the reading, and after that they play in the yard until you come.
I cook every day. Pasta, chicken, vegetables, minestrone in the winter. Nothing strange and nothing out of a packet. Even the fussy ones will eat if nobody makes a fuss about it, this is what I have found.
I do not have a first aid certificate. I raised four children and I have never had an emergency in this house, but I want to be honest with you before you ask.
I drive, but only around Concord and Five Dock. No motorway any more.
I am home all day. If you want somebody who is here every week and not just sometimes, that is me.

Final year speech pathology at USyd, and I've worked at an OOSH service in Concord for four years, so I've done the 3pm chaos about a thousand times.
