About Simone
I teach Year 3 at a public school in the Inner West and have done for eleven years. Before that I did two years of casual work across about a dozen schools, which is where you actually learn to walk into a room full of strangers and get somewhere with them.
Babysitting on weekends and through the holidays is something I have always done alongside teaching. Most of my bookings come from families I have known for years, and I have room for one or two more.
What that means in practice. I can get homework done without it turning into a fight, and I will tell you honestly whether your child is stuck or just avoiding it. I know what a five year old can manage at bedtime and I know what an eight year old will try on. I do not need telling twice about allergies, medication or routines, and I would much rather have too much detail from you than too little.
I am best with the ages I teach and either side of them, so roughly three up to twelve. Teenagers are fine too, although mostly they want to be left alone with the wifi, and that suits us both.
Availability, honestly. Weekends during term. Friday nights from about 6, with the warning that I am usually asleep by 9 on a Friday and would rather tell you that now than yawn at you later. Most days across the school holidays, and the next lot start in late September. I am away for the first week of every January break, family thing down at Kiama, so please do not count on me then.
WWCC and CPR both current through work, renewed in February. $45 an hour, $50 after 10pm. Happy to meet for a coffee first. I would rather your kids have met me once before you walk out the door.

Disability support worker, six years experience
