About Simone
I'm Simone, 22, and I'm in third year of social work at UTS.
I started at vacation care in the summer of 2022 as a casual and I've worked every school holidays since, so four years now, mostly with the 5 to 12 group. Big rooms, forty kids, thirty five degree days, endless sunscreen and long arguments about whose turn it is on the good scooter. It taught me two things worth putting in an ad. One, I can keep track of a lot of children at once, so two of them is not stressful for me at all. Two, I can see the meltdown coming about ten minutes before it lands.
Since 2023 I've also been supporting a few kids in that program with autism and ADHD. I'm comfortable with visual schedules, warnings before a transition, and knowing when a kid needs to leave the room for ten minutes and be left alone while they do it. I'm not going to tell you I'm an expert on your child, because I'm not. Tell me what works for them and I'll do it your way and not my own version of it.
I also volunteer at a homework club in Glebe, which is where all my primary school maths came back to me.
Practical things. I have first aid and CPR through work, and my WWCC. I don't drive, so I'm best in Glebe, Forest Lodge, Annandale and Camperdown, anywhere I can walk or get one bus to. I'll clear up the dinner mess and stack the dishwasher before I go, you don't have to ask for that.
Happy to meet first, even just a chat at the door, so your kids have seen who I am before I turn up on a night you're going out.

Ex cabin crew, back at uni, free most afternoons
Nine years as cabin crew, mostly long haul, and I've seen every tantrum there is at 38,000 feet. Nothing that happens in a lounge room is going to rattle me. I left last year and I'm studying speech pathology at Sydney Uni now, so I'm around Glebe most afternoons and evenings. First aid and CPR are current, the airline made us re-sit them yearly and I've kept it up.

Design student at UTS, 22. I've been babysitting since high school, mostly for family friends around Glebe and Annandale. I'm the one who will actually sit on the floor and build the thing rather than watch from the couch. Portuguese speaker (Mum's Brazilian) if that's handy for you.
