About Cheryl
I'm Cheryl. I've been babysitting around Mortlake, Cabarita and Concord since my own two were small, which is going on twenty years now. A couple of the kids I used to mind have had babies of their own, and one of them asked me to sit for hers last year, which made me feel about a hundred and also rather pleased with myself.
I have a current WWCC, a police check, first aid including CPR, and a full licence. References from four families, two of whom I have been with for five and six years, and you are welcome to ring any of them.
What I am actually good at is the boring part, which is the part nobody advertises. Dinner that gets eaten. Bath, teeth, story, and the twenty minute stalling campaign that comes after it. The witching hour between five and six when everybody has had enough of everybody. Sick days, when you have run out of leave and your boss has started making a face about it. I have sat with a lot of children on a lot of lounges with a bucket.
I follow your routine, not mine. If yours is the house where the hall light stays on and it is three books not one, then that is how we do it, and I am not going to have an opinion about your parenting.
I'm the type who stays. I'm not chasing the odd Saturday night here and there, I would rather find one or two families and be part of the furniture for a few years.
I do charge more than the young ones. That is the trade. What you get for it is somebody who turns up when she says she will, who has not cancelled on a family in twenty years, and who your kids will be pleased to see at the door.

Nar here! I do the after school run for two families already and I've got room for one more. I can do the pickup, get them to swimming or dance, and have dinner on the table by the time you walk in the door. My car has two anchor points and it's clean, mostly.

Maternity nurse, newborns and the whole first year
Registered nurse, twenty years. The first eight were general medical and emergency. The last twelve have been maternity and special care nursery, which is where I have stayed because it suits me. Alongside my shifts I do private newborn support, and I take evening babysitting for families who have a baby in the house and want someone who is not going to panic.
