Full Time Nanny/Housekeeper

Lindfield, NSW

Monday to Friday, 7:45 AM – 5:45 PM (50 hours/week)

We are a busy family of five looking for an energetic, reliable, highly organised, and warm Nanny/Housekeeper to join our household long-term. We have three wonderful children: an 8-year-old (Year 2), a 6-year-old (Kindergarten), and a 3-year-old (who attends preschool 2 days a week).

This role involves taking care of the children and housekeeping duties. It would suit someone who is proactive, highly organised, loves cooking and is comfortable switching between childcare and household management. Our 3 year old will transition to 3 days of preschool next year and then school the year after so we are looking for someone who is comfortable in both roles but wanting to transition to a Family Assistant role once all children are in school 5 days a week.

Childcare Duties:

· Full care and supervision of the children (including all 3 children during school holidays when we are not away)

· Driving family car for school and preschool drop-offs and afternoon pickups

· Driving children to extracurricular activities

· Supervising homework and reading routines

· Preparing and serving healthy meals (including stocking freezer with meals and lunchbox morning tea)

Housekeeping Duties:

· Weekly making beds and changing linen

· Laundry for the family including sheets and towels

· Weekly ironing for the household

· Grocery shopping and local errands. Cooking 1–2 large family meals per week

· Maintaining general tidiness of the household (eg packing/unpacking dishwasher) – we have a cleaner so no heavy cleaning required.

Please only apply if you have long term experience in a similar Nanny-Housekeeper role.

Pay is $45/hr + 12% super + 5weeks annual leave and 10 days sick leave. We offer 5 weeks as we will need you to use some of your annual leave when we take some leave each school hols (subject to housekeeping duties).

Questions babysitters and nannies ask

Do I need a Working With Children Check to babysit?
In New South Wales and Victoria, not for casual, privately arranged babysitting in a family's own home. Some states do require one for any paid babysitting: Queensland, the ACT and the NT. If you work as a nanny, au pair, or tutor, meaning regular ongoing care rather than the occasional evening, you do need one, and the parent is expected to verify it. What it costs depends on the state: in NSW $112 for five years, in Victoria $139.20 for five years. Where the line falls in NSW. How to become a babysitter in Australia covers the start.
How do I get verified?
Opt in from your profile once you have listed. You confirm a government photo ID with a matching selfie through Didit, our identity provider, which takes about two minutes, and give us your legal name, date of birth, and check number. We then check your status with the register that issued it ourselves, usually within 48 hours. Today we can check clearances issued in New South Wales and Victoria. If it comes back cleared and the details match your ID, your badge goes live with the month we checked. It is free. Exactly what we check.
What does it cost?
Nothing. Listing is free, verification is free, and there is no commission on what you earn. Babysitters and nannies stay free permanently, and families do not pay anything either. Why the site is free.
How much should I charge in Lindfield?
Babysitters and nannies already listed in Lindfield are asking between $20 and $60 an hour, across 76 profiles that state a rate. That is what families here are seeing, so it is a reasonable place to pitch yourself. Put a rate on your profile. Parents filter by it, and a profile without one is the easy one to skip. What moves a babysitting rate. How much to charge for babysitting is for when you are the one saying the number.
How do families get in touch?
Through messages on the site. Your profile shows your first name and last initial, your suburb, and your rate and availability. It never shows your address, phone number, or email. You decide what to share once you have talked to someone, and you can block anyone.
