Casual Nanny/Babysitter Wanted – Spring Farm 2570 🤍

We’re looking for a reliable, caring and energetic nanny/babysitter for our 9-month-old little boy on a casual but ongoing basis.

Hours will vary and may include weekdays, occasional weekends and evenings. During many weekday shifts I’ll be home working in my office or with clients, with the option for evening babysitting once we’ve built trust and everyone is comfortable.

Our little boy is very happy and social but also very routine-based, so we’re looking for someone who is comfortable following his established feeds, naps and bedtime routine. Duties would mainly involve playing with him, feeding/changing him, walks or trips to the local park, settling him for naps and eventually completing his bedtime routine.

We’re looking for someone who has:
• Experience caring for babies around his age
• Current WWCC and Police Check
• Current First Aid & infant CPR
• References
• Reliable transport
• Good availability and reliability

As I’ve never had anyone outside of family care for him before, finding someone we genuinely trust is really important to us. We’d love to meet first and then arrange a paid trial while I’m home before progressing to independent babysitting.

Please get in touch with a little about yourself, your experience with babies, availability and hourly rate. 🤍

Questions babysitters and nannies ask

Do I need a Working With Children Check to babysit?
In New South Wales and Victoria, not for casual, privately arranged babysitting in a family's own home. Some states do require one for any paid babysitting: Queensland, the ACT and the NT. If you work as a nanny, au pair, or tutor, meaning regular ongoing care rather than the occasional evening, you do need one, and the parent is expected to verify it. What it costs depends on the state: in NSW $112 for five years, in Victoria $139.20 for five years. Where the line falls in NSW. How to become a babysitter in Australia covers the start.
How do I get verified?
Opt in from your profile once you have listed. You confirm a government photo ID with a matching selfie through Didit, our identity provider, which takes about two minutes, and give us your legal name, date of birth, and check number. We then check your status with the register that issued it ourselves, usually within 48 hours. Today we can check clearances issued in New South Wales and Victoria. If it comes back cleared and the details match your ID, your badge goes live with the month we checked. It is free. Exactly what we check.
What does it cost?
Nothing. Listing is free, verification is free, and there is no commission on what you earn. Babysitters and nannies stay free permanently, and families do not pay anything either. Why the site is free.
How much should I charge in Spring Farm (NSW)?
Babysitters and nannies already listed in Spring Farm (NSW) are asking between $25 and $50 an hour, across 8 profiles that state a rate. That is what families here are seeing, so it is a reasonable place to pitch yourself. Put a rate on your profile. Parents filter by it, and a profile without one is the easy one to skip. What moves a babysitting rate. How much to charge for babysitting is for when you are the one saying the number.
How do families get in touch?
Through messages on the site. Your profile shows your first name and last initial, your suburb, and your rate and availability. It never shows your address, phone number, or email. You decide what to share once you have talked to someone, and you can block anyone.
