I have been watching and helping my sister out with her now 5 year old nephew since he was a baby and have a week of practical work placement at a childcare centre where I helped with feeding, putting to sleep and outdoor activities with the kids.

I’m comfortable with young children and early‑primary ages because I love their energy, curiosity, and how quickly they learn when you give them patience and encouragement.

When looking after children I like to keep the evening calm and fun. I usually start by settling the kids into an activity they enjoy, whether that’s playing a simple game, reading, drawing, or something active if they need to burn off energy. I take care following any routine's provided closely, especially around meals, bath time, and bedtime, because I know consistency helps kids feel safe and relaxed.

I’m confident managing routines, helping with quiet play, and creating a warm environment where children feel comfortable. Once they’re asleep, I tidy up, keep the home peaceful, and stay attentive so parents can enjoy their night out knowing everything is under control.
